9.9 Use of payment service providers

If you select a payment method from the provider where you make an advance payment (e.g., credit card payment), your payment data (including name, address, bank and payment card information, currency, and transaction number) as well as information about the content of your order will be passed on to the provider in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Your data is passed on in this case exclusively for the purpose of payment processing with the provider and only to the extent necessary for this purpose.
- Apple Pay

If you choose the "Apple Pay" payment method from Apple Distribution International (Apple), Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland, payment processing takes place via the "Apple Pay" function on your device operated with iOS, watchOS, or macOS by charging a payment card stored in "Apple Pay." Apple Pay uses security features integrated into your device's hardware and software to protect your transactions. To authorize a payment, you must enter a code you previously set and verify the transaction using the "Face ID" or "Touch ID" feature of your device.

For the purpose of payment processing, your information provided during the ordering process, along with information about your order, is passed on to Apple in encrypted form. Apple then re-encrypts this data with a developer-specific key before the data is transmitted to the payment service provider of the payment card stored in Apple Pay to carry out the payment. The encryption ensures that only the website where the purchase was made can access the payment data. After the payment has been made, Apple sends your device account number and a transaction-specific, dynamic security code to the originating website to confirm that the payment was successful.

Insofar as personal data is processed during the described transmissions, the processing is carried out exclusively for the purpose of payment processing in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Apple retains anonymized transaction data, including the approximate purchase amount, the approximate date and time, and whether the transaction was successfully completed. The anonymization completely excludes any personal identification. Apple uses the anonymized data to improve "Apple Pay" and other Apple products and services.

If you use Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch to complete a purchase you started via Safari on your Mac, the Mac and the authorization device communicate via an encrypted channel on Apple's servers. Apple does not process or store any of this information in a format that can identify you. You can disable the option to use Apple Pay on your Mac in your iPhone settings. Go to "Wallet & Apple Pay" and turn off "Allow Payments on Mac."

To authorize a payment via Google Pay in an amount of more than €25.00, you must first unlock your mobile device using the verification method set up (e.g., facial recognition, password, fingerprint, or pattern).

For the purpose of payment processing, your information provided during the ordering process, along with information about your order, is passed on to Google. Google then transmits your payment information stored in Google Pay to the originating website in the form of a one-time transaction number to verify the payment. This transaction number does not contain any information about your actual payment data for the payment methods stored in Google Pay, but is created and transmitted as a one-time valid numeric token. For all transactions via Google Pay, Google acts solely as an intermediary for processing the payment. The transaction is carried out exclusively in the relationship between the user and the originating website by charging the payment method stored in Google Pay.

Insofar as personal data is processed during the described transmissions, the processing is carried out exclusively for the purpose of payment processing in accordance with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Google reserves the right to collect, store, and analyze certain transaction-specific information for every transaction made via Google Pay. This includes the date, time, and amount of the transaction, merchant location and description, a description of the purchased goods or services provided by the merchant, photos you have attached to the transaction, the name and e-mail address of the seller and buyer or sender and recipient, the payment method used, your reason for the transaction, and, if applicable, any offer associated with the transaction.

According to Google, this processing is carried out exclusively in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR based on the legitimate interest in proper accounting, verification of transaction data, and the optimization and maintenance of the functionality of the Google Pay service.

PayPal uses the result of the credit assessment regarding the statistical probability of default for the purpose of deciding on the provision of the respective payment method. The credit assessment may contain probability values (so-called score values). Insofar as score values are included in the result of the credit assessment, they are based on a scientifically recognized mathematical-statistical procedure. The calculation of the score values includes, among other things, but not exclusively, address data. You can object to this processing of your data at any time by sending a message to PayPal. However, PayPal may remain entitled to process your personal data if this is necessary for contractual payment processing.

If the PayPal payment method "Purchase on account" is available and selected, your payment data will first be transmitted to PayPal to prepare for payment, after which PayPal will forward this to Ratepay GmbH, Franklinstraße 28-29, 10587 Berlin ("Ratepay") to execute the payment. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR in each case. In this case, Ratepay carries out an identity and credit check in its own name to determine creditworthiness in accordance with the principle already mentioned above and forwards your payment data to credit agencies based on the legitimate interest in determining creditworthiness pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. A list of the credit agencies that Ratepay may use can be found here: https://www.ratepay.com/legal-payment-creditagencies/

When using a payment method from a local third-party provider, your payment data will first be passed on to PayPal to prepare for payment in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR. Depending on your selection of an available local payment method, PayPal will then transmit your payment data to the corresponding provider to execute the payment in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR:

10) Online Marketing

Google AdSense

This website uses Google AdSense, a web advertising service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). Google AdSense uses so-called "cookies," which are text files that are stored on your computer and allow an analysis of your use of the website. In addition, Google AdSense also uses so-called "web beacons" (small invisible graphics) to collect information. Through the use of these, simple actions such as visitor traffic on the website can be recorded, collected, and evaluated. The information generated by the cookie and/or web beacon about your use of this website (including your IP address) is generally transmitted to a Google server and stored there. This may also involve a transfer to the servers of Google LLC. in the USA.

Google uses the information obtained in this way to perform an evaluation of your usage behavior with regard to AdSense ads. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the framework of Google AdSense will not be merged with other data held by Google. The information collected by Google may be transferred to third parties if this is required by law and/or if third parties process this data on Google's behalf.
All processing described above, in particular the reading of information on the end device used via cookies and/or web beacons, will only be carried out if you have given us your express consent to do so in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. Without this consent, Google AdSense will not be used during your visit to the site.

You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by deactivating this service in the "Cookie Consent Tool" provided on the website.

For data transfers to the USA, the provider has joined the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which ensures compliance with the European level of data protection based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

11) Web Analysis Services

Shopify Analytics

This website uses the web analysis service of the following provider: Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 2nd Floor, 1-2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland

Data is also transferred to: Shopify Inc., 150 Elgin St, Ottawa, ON K2P 1L4, Canada

With the help of cookies and/or comparable technologies (tracking pixels, web beacons, algorithms for reading terminal and browser information), the service collects and stores pseudonymized visitor data, including information about the terminal device used such as the IP address and browser information, in order to evaluate it for statistical analyses of usage behavior on our website and to create pseudonymized usage profiles. Among other things, this allows for the evaluation of movement patterns (so-called heatmaps), which show the duration of page visits as well as interactions with page content (e.g., text input, scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs). Pseudonymization generally excludes direct reference to a person. There is no merging with other data collected about your person in plain text.

All processing described above, in particular the reading or storage of information on the end device used, will only be carried out if you have given us your express consent to do so in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by deactivating this service in the "Cookie Consent Tool" provided on the website.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that protects the data of our site visitors and prohibits disclosure to third parties.

In the case of data transmission to Canada, an adequate level of data protection is guaranteed by an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

12) Retargeting/ Remarketing and Conversion Tracking

12.1 Meta Pixel

Within our online offer, we use the "Meta Pixel" service of the following provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Meta")

If a user clicks on an advertisement placed by us on Facebook and/or Instagram, the URL of our linked page is extended by a parameter using the "Meta Pixel." After redirection, this URL parameter is then entered into the user's browser by a cookie that our linked page itself sets.

This makes it possible for Meta, on the one hand, to determine the visitors to our online offer as a target group for the display of advertisements (so-called "ads"). Accordingly, we use the service to display the Facebook and/or Instagram ads placed by us only to those users who have shown an interest in our online offer or who have certain characteristics (e.g., interests in certain topics or products, which are determined based on the websites visited), which we transmit to Meta (so-called "Custom Audiences").

On the other hand, the "Meta Pixel" can be used to track whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on an advertisement and which actions they take there (so-called "conversion tracking").

The collected data is anonymous for us, meaning it does not allow us to draw conclusions about the identity of the users. However, the data is stored and processed by Meta, so a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Meta can use the data for its own advertising purposes.

All processing described above, in particular the setting of cookies for reading information on the end device used, will only be carried out if you have given us your express consent to do so in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by deactivating this service in the "Cookie Consent Tool" provided on the website.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider that ensures the protection of the data of our site visitors and prohibits unauthorized disclosure to third parties.

The information generated by Meta is generally transmitted to a Meta server and stored there; in this context, there may also be a transfer to the servers of Meta Platforms Inc. in the USA.

For data transfers to the USA, the provider has joined the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which ensures compliance with the European level of data protection based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

12.2 Google Ads Remarketing

This website uses retargeting technology from the following provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland

To this end, Google sets a cookie on the browser of your end device, which automatically enables interest-based advertising by means of a pseudonymous cookie ID and on the basis of the pages you visit. Any further data processing will only take place if you have consented to Google linking your internet and app browser history with your Google account and using information from your Google account to personalize ads that you view on the web. If you are logged into Google while visiting our website in this case, Google will use your data together with Google Analytics data to create and define target group lists for cross-device remarketing. For this purpose, your personal data is temporarily linked by Google with Google Analytics data in order to form target groups. As part of the use of Google Ads Remarketing, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC in the USA.

All processing described above, in particular the setting of cookies for reading information on the end device used, is only carried out if you have given us your express consent to do so in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Without this grant of consent, the use of retargeting technology will not take place during your visit to the site.

You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your revocation, please deactivate this service in the "Cookie Consent Tool" provided on the website.

For data transfers to the USA, the provider has joined the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which ensures compliance with the European level of data protection on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission.

12.3 Google Ads Conversion Tracking

This website uses the online advertising program "Google Ads" and, as part of Google Ads, the conversion tracking of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). We use the Google Ads offering to draw attention to our attractive offers with the help of advertising materials (so-called Google Adwords) on external websites. We can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the data of the advertising campaigns. Our objective is to show you advertisements that are of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you, and to achieve a fair calculation of the advertising costs incurred.

The cookie for conversion tracking is set when a user clicks on an ad served by Google. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your end device. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of Google Ads customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for Google Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page provided with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. As part of the use of Google Ads, personal data may also be transmitted to the servers of Google LLC in the USA.

13) Website Functionalities

13.1 Google Maps

This website uses an online map service from the following provider: Google Maps (API) from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).

Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive maps in order to visually represent geographical information. Through the use of this service, our location is displayed to you, making it easier for you to find your way to us.

As soon as you access subpages into which the Google Maps map is integrated, information about your use of our website (such as your IP address) is transmitted to Google servers and stored there; this may also involve a transfer to the servers of Google LLC in the USA. This occurs regardless of whether Google provides a user account through which you are logged in or whether no user account exists. If you are logged into Google, your data will be directly assigned to your account. If you do not wish for the association with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and evaluates them.

The collection, storage, and evaluation are carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR on the basis of Google's legitimate interest in displaying personalized advertising, market research, and/or demand-oriented design of Google websites. You have a right to object to the creation of these user profiles, and you must contact Google to exercise this right. If you do not agree to the future transmission of your data to Google in the context of using Google Maps, you also have the option to completely deactivate the Google Maps web service by turning off the JavaScript application in your browser. Google Maps and thus the map display on this website can then not be used.

As far as legally required, we have obtained your consent for the processing of your data as described above in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your revocation, please follow the procedure described above for filing an objection.

For data transfers to the USA, the provider has joined the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which ensures compliance with the European level of data protection on the basis of an adequacy decision by the European Commission.

To enable real-time verification of certain entries in the address form of our web shop's ordering process for input errors, we use the services of the following provider: Endereco UG, Balthasar-Neumann-Straße 4b, 97236 Randersacker, Germany

The provider validates the entered address, verifies the spelling, and adds missing data if necessary. In the case of ambiguous addresses, correct alternative suggestions are displayed. For this purpose, the address data you enter is transmitted to the provider, stored, and evaluated there.

This processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in the proper recording of the customer's correct address data for the conscientious fulfillment of our contractual delivery obligations and for the prevention of problems in contract implementation.

The provider processes the affected data separately, does not merge it with other data sets, and deletes it as soon as its status or correctness has been confirmed, but no later than after 30 days.

13.3 Google Translate

This website uses the translation service "Google Translate" from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”) via an API integration. So that the translation is displayed automatically according to your chosen national language, the browser you use establishes a connection to the Google servers. Google uses so-called "cookies," which are text files stored on your computer that allow for an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including the shortened IP address) is generally transmitted to a Google server and stored there; this may also involve a transfer to the servers of Google LLC in the USA.

All processing described above, in particular the setting of cookies for reading information on the end device used, is only carried out if you have given us your express consent to do so in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Cookie Consent Tool

This website uses a so-called "Cookie Consent Tool" to obtain effective user consent for cookies and cookie-based applications that require consent. Through the use of this tool, all cookies/services requiring consent are only loaded if the respective user has given the corresponding consent by checking the box. This ensures that such cookies are only set on the user's respective end device in the event that consent has been given.

The tool sets technically necessary cookies to store your cookie preferences. Personal user data is generally not processed in this process.

If, in individual cases, personal data (such as the IP address) is processed for the purpose of storing, assigning, or logging cookie settings, this is done in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in legally compliant, user-specific, and user-friendly consent management for cookies and, therefore, in the legally compliant design of our website.

A further legal basis for the processing is also Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR. As the data controller, we are subject to the legal obligation to make the use of technically unnecessary cookies dependent on the respective user consent.

Where necessary, we have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider, which ensures the protection of our site visitors' data and prohibits unauthorized disclosure to third parties.

Further information on the operator and the settings for the cookie consent tool can be found directly in the relevant user interface on our website.

IF YOU EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO OBJECT, WE WILL STOP PROCESSING THE DATA CONCERNED. HOWEVER, WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CONTINUE PROCESSING IF WE CAN PROVE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OUTWEIGH YOUR INTERESTS, FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR IF THE PROCESSING SERVES TO ASSERT, EXERCISE OR DEFEND LEGAL CLAIMS.
